Well done and thank you to the Year 5/6 World Cup Basketball team for representing Selwyn Ridge and their adopted country Poland. The team played with fantastic spirit and attitudes during every game. Throughout the day the team improved their basketball skills and teamwork which showed on and off the court. A special thanks to coach Ryan Piddington and score bench helper Landon Springall. Also to the parents who helped with transport and came to support the team. The team finished 27th out of 36 teams.

Thank you to all the children who attended the JT’s Mini Ferns Netball Programme over the past 5 weeks. Children have learnt the fundament skills of passing, shooting, movement and teamwork during the sessions. A special thanks to the Year 6 Dynamo Sports Leaders, Emma Springall, Sian Nathan, Chastiny Malone, Jasmine Riley, Myah Ioane and Sofie Phillips for sharing their netball skills and helping to develop the children during fun games and warm-ups.
Today we had 10 students compete at the WBOP Cross Country at Waipuna Park. Congratulations to all runners for completing the course, achieving personal goals and representing Selwyn Ridge and the South Cluster. A special congratulations to Year 6 Kadin Nogaj – 3rd Place and Year 4 Eleanor Pugh – 2nd Place medal winners. We had 4 students who qualifed in the top 15 in their race and will compete at BOP Primary Middle Schools Championship held at Kaharoa School in Rotorua on Tuesday 27 June – 9:30am to 2:30pm – Good luck to all runners!!

Thank you to the children who attended the lunchtime tennis lessons with Mrs Taylor on Tuesdays. Mrs Taylor enjoyed teaching children the fundamental skills of tennis and also growing childrens confidence during the each lesson.

Congratulations to students who placed in the top seven and will go on to compete at the WBOP Cross Counry Event on Wednesday 21 June at Waipuna Park. World Cup Rippa Rugby teams for representing Selwyn Ridge and their adopted country Kenya today in the Inter-School Tournament held at Blake Park. Both teams showed sportsmanship and resilience throughout the day and being humble and graceful during the games that they won and loss. A special thanks to their team managers Year 6 – Landon Springall and Year 4 – Poppa Mike and Mary. Also to the wonderful parents who were able to help with transport and supported positively on the sidelines.
Participation and Plate Winner certificates will be presented at the Monday morning assembly next week.
