Kia ora whānau of our room 8 and room 21 campers. All is great and we are expecting them to be back between 1:45-2:30. Parents can pick kids and gear up from the field again.

A lovely celebratory assembly to start the last full week of school for 2024. We were joined by some local Lions for the presentation of their annual service and citizenship awards. We really appreciate their organisation’s ongoing commitment to our kura. Ngā mihi. We also caught up on some bookmark, soaring high and ICAS awards and heard some heartfelt farewell messages from our year 6’s. Congratulations and thanks everyone:)

An exciting day indeed for our SRP Creatives in schools team today! They loved seeing their artwork come to life in our new mural.

Ka rawe! This beautiful new mural now adorns our kura. Telling the purakau of our pou, it was created by our creatives in school roopu who worked hard with designer Cory Handley during term two. It features artwork from the tamariki plus all of the coloured tiles made by tamariki when the pou were installed. Come and check it out!

We celebrated our 2024 sports assembly this morning and it was a pleasure to present the Year 6 Sports Awards to these deserving recipients. Chess - Junsu Swimming - Ariana & Joshua Cross Country - Oscar & Skylah Athletics - Lani & Joshua Sportsmanship - Abbey & Levi Contribution to Sport - Tari. We also celebrated our Sth Cluster & WBOP Athletes, Orienteering Team and our wonderful Dynamo Leaders. A special thank you to all our coaches, managers, referees and scorers for their commitment and efforts in developing our children and giving them the opportunity to play their chosen sport this year. We appreciate you all! Thank you to the children you have chosen to play sport, keep active and represent our school showing positive attitudes, sportsmanship, respect, resilience and commitment. Special thanks also to our guest speaker Kadin Nogaj for sharing his journey as a slalom athlete and his outstanding achievements over his years. Keep soaring high Kadin!!

There’s lots of learning in designing a golf course! Eiji and Josh and Callum and Henry were proud to share lots of information about the practical application of their recent geometry learning.

Treats in the office this afternoon after a day of rich cultural learning in room 2. Huge thanks to Maya’s mum Zhala and Aunty Hanin for sharing their knowledge, time, energy and ingredients with us. And farewell and Merry Christmas to Mrs K who’s ending the term a little early to head off on a long awaited visit to far flung family overseas. Safe travels:)
