Ahiahi pai koutou, Te Wiki Haumaru Rori / Road Safety Week. What an awesome sunny yellow day we have had at SRP today! Well done to all those who dressed up with yellow hair today to show support for all our Road Safety Heroes - we appreciate them all! 3 of our classes took part in a special visit from Brake the Road - all about road safety. We were lucky to have some key people come in and talk with us all about a range of road safety areas from planning, to organising, road traffic and making road works safe too! A huge ngā mihi to: our very own Jolene from Travel Safe, Alex & Myles from BECA (engineers who plan, design & make roads), Yvonne & Anthony from NZ Transport Agency / Waka Kotahi and Linden, Baedyn, Toia & Kendra from HEB Traffic Management. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about different roles in Road Safety, getting active with using a traffic stop/go on our cycle track and the hands on mahi learning about the in's and out's of a traffic safety vehicle - tino hauhautanga! We all play an important role in keeping our ākonga safe on and around the roads! #RoadSafetyWeek #roadsafetyhero
