Kia ora, Congratulations to the recipients of this week’s bookmark awards. These learners have been ‘caught’ soaring high and demonstrating our school values in action. Tino pai tō mahi! At our Monday Morning Message this week, we talked about what we can do if things aren’t going how we’d like in the playground. Tamariki shared some great strategies, including walking away, choosing to do something else, talking things through, ignoring the behaviour, or seeking help from an adult or the duty teacher. We also reminded ourselves of the importance of treating others the way we would like to be treated. Duathlon next week: We shared information about the upcoming duathlon. This week is a great time for whānau to check bikes and helmets, making sure everything is in tip-top condition and ready for the day. Finally, we wished our Southern Cluster swimmers the very best of luck for their swimming event tomorrow. Ka mau te wehi!

What a great way to finish week 6 together at kura. At our Friday Celebration Assembly we celebrated Soaring High with team awards - ka pai to these tamariki who have been showing great kid on the ridge qualities. We also enjoyed some mahi toi from Room 19. Their self portraits were fantastic and showed their creativity. Willow and Charlotte shared their writing, inspired by the story ‘Dirty Bertie’, which Rosalee kindly read to us. The story certainly sparked some imaginative ideas! To finish, we wished our Top Schools team all the very best as they head to Ōmokoroa next Friday to compete. We know they will represent our kura with pride and teamwork. Ka mau te wehi, SRP - another week of awesome learning.

Room 13 have had a great time at camp today too. Rock climbing, conservation and bush walks. How lucky! Just had afternoon tea and looking forward to cooking their own dinners, and then a night time bush walk. Great times!

Room 13 are having a great time at Aongatete camp! A fun hike this morning, some activities and challenges this afternoon. Spaghetti bolognaise then fruit crumble and ice cream. On to the pancake challenge now. Tu meke!
