The ultimate challenge to end the term! Some of our year 5/6 ākonga have just completed a PE unit on American handball and threw down a wero to the teachers this afternoon. It was a hard-played encounter but we teachers pipped them at the post. We need a rest now! Have a great break everyone!
Kia ora koutou whānau, We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for all your partnership & support over this term. We have had a great celebration assembly to finish off. Kā rawe to all our ākonga who presented learning, instructed us for 'born to move' and entertained/informed us with exceptional speeches. On top of all that we also farewelled our graduating teachers and watched some amazing SRP staff wow us with their talents! We wish you all a safe and happy holidays - bring on the warmer weather and lighter evenings. See you all back for Term 4 on Monday 9th October.
ALL SORTED thanks. Little Louis is home safely. Anyone recognise this little one? He’s very frightened in the bushes at the back of school. Won’t let us approach but we will try again when the kids are back inside after play.
Kia ora koutou, It's a newsletter day for the last day of term. Wishing all tamariki and whānau a great 2 week term break.
Wow - ngā mihi maioha to the New Zealand Food Network for the generous donation of apples today. Heads up - your child may come home with a few free apples today! Feel free to come along to our Pātaka kai - sharing shed to grab a few for your whānau. What is the NZFN? NZFN connects supply with demand preventing good food from going to landfill and redirecting it to communities who need it most; bringing bulk scale, efficiency and equity to the food rescue and relief sector. https://www.nzfoodnetwork.org.nz/
Fabulous senior Y5/6 learning exhibitions tonight as well. Ka mau te wehi! The hands on, interactive tuakana-teina sharing was epic. Lots of interesting Pakirehua (Inquiry) and Pūtaiao (Science) with large doses of pāngarau and te reo matatini woven through.
Lots more learning on show at exhibitions today. Great to see so many whānau and our kids’ excitement at sharing their mahi. All our senior rooms are open from 5-6 tonight too; followed by the “Changes Ahead” whānau information session.
