2026 - Terms 2&3 Hockey - Years 3/4

Welcome to the MiniSticks Hockey season - Hockey is played during Term 2 and Term 3. Teams will need a coach, team manager and an umpire. Please go to the following website for weekly draws and coaches/umpires information: www.tgahockey.co.nz. The fee includes a contribution fee towards the cost of an offical umpire for games and a turf levy. The team umpire can be a parent or older student who has completed the umpire sessions or who has experience. For information on coaching and umpire development please go the Tauranga Hockey Association website.

Season Starts: Saturday 2 May - Term 2 - 8 weeks & Term 3 - 6 weeks = 14 weeks in total

*No hockey games Kings Birthday weekend (Sat 30 May)

*No hockey games July school holidays (Saturday 4,11 &18 July)

Uniform: School PE shirt and suitable sports shorts, black or navy long socks, shin pads, mouthguard and shoes must be worn. Sports jackets will be issued to players. Players will need their own hockey stick. Mouthguards will be provided to all players before the season starts thanks to the sponsorship of Bay Orthodontics.

Cancellations: Website: www.tgahockey.co.nz from 7:10am on Saturdays 

Game Time/Venue: Games are played anytime between 8:30am - 11:00am. All games are played on Saturdays at the Tauranga Hockey Centre - Mt Maunganui

Hockey Divisions:

 BLUE - Year 3-4 Players who are skilled first timers or who have played more than 2 or 3 years of hockey - predomintely year 4s

ORANGE - Year 3-4 Players who have played less than 2 years - or are first timers - predomintely year 3s

Game duration: Each game will consist of x2 15 minute periods, with a 4 minute halftime.  Teams are 4 aside with up to 9 players in a team. Teams will need a coach, manager and an umpire.
