Our year 4/5/6 akōnga were privileged to be visited by Olympic ambassador Connor Bell this morning. Connor, a discus thrower talked about his experiences getting to the Olympics. He shared: * Throwing the discus is like throwing a 2kilo dinner plate. * 69.51m is his personal best throw * When he was younger, if he didn't throw the distance he expected to he would let that negative thought/feeling take over the day - even if there was really good experiences. His message to us was...it's not what you do, but how you do it. He linked lots to our "memories are treasured forever" poster in the hall and encouraged tamariki to make great memories. He stressed the need to focus on the enjoyment of the people and energy around you. * Becoming an Olympian needed resilience, bouncing back and layered effort!

At our celebration hui this morning, the tamariki from Room 10 shared their insights on Te Whare Tapa Whā. They did a fantastic job explaining how this model supports their wellbeing, helping them stay happy, healthy, and strong. A big thank you to Room 10, ka rawe!
We’d like to acknowledge Bri Flexman, who recently graduated with her Bachelor of Teaching from the University of Waikato. We are incredibly proud to have Bri as part of our teaching team and leading the way in Room 12. Completing a degree is no small feat, it reflects 3 years of hard mahi, dedication and a true passion for education. Seeing Bri officially graduate is a proud moment for our whole school community. Congratulations, Bri.
