Welcome to

Kia ora koutou whānau, welcome to Wiki 6. This afternoon in our Monday Message we were extremely fortunate to have some special guests come along - and wow were they fantastic! A huge ngā mihi to Animoso, the Bethlehem College Choir who came and shared 3 amazing songs with us. We especially loved having our ex Ridgies India and Martha performing! All the best in your lead up to the 'Big Sing' competition. Congratulations to our Bookmark Award winners this week - soaring high across all curriculum areas. And finally thanks to Lola & Payton for sharing the classes topping the Wednesday Challenge for last week - tino pai tō mahi R1 with 100% & Rooms 18,10, 14 & 21 who all shared the second spot with 96%.
Nau mai ki tō tatou kura - welcome to all our new tamariki & families. This morning we had our Term 3 Mihi whakatau to welcome our new families to our school. A massive shout out to Meihana who did an amazing job leading the whaikorero and to our middle kapa haka for their first, warm and rousing welcome as our tangata whenua for our manuhiri. Mā te pā te tamaiti e whakatipu It takes a village to raise a child
We’ve received 10 nominations for 5 places for our Parent Board Election, which means it’s now time to vote! 🗳️ Voting instructions were sent out to everyone on the electoral roll yesterday. If you haven't received this or something isn't working for - please contact us and we'll do all we can to help. Yesterday the voting platform experienced an issue but we have been told this has now been solved and voting is now available. Thank you to all our nominees and whānau for being involved in shaping the future of our kura.
So proud of this trio! Isla, Marlee and Brooklyn all danced beautifully at the Dance NZmade inter-school competition tonight. Year 3, 5 and 6 solo champions all winning their year levels. Marlee and Brooklyn won their duo as well. Fantastic effort! ✨️
Welcome to Wiki 5 :) Another fabulous sunny day of mahi in and around Selwyn Ridge today. Today we settled into a new week thinking about what 'responsibility' means - Mr Price narrated an Oscar worthy skit based on 'The boy who cried wolf' starring some outstanding performances.... luckily the moral of the story still came shining through! We all have the responsibility when we mess up, to fess up (own up), fix up and then move on. He taonga rongonui te aroha ki te tangata Goodwill towards others is a precious treasure. We also celebrated our Bookmark award winners for their efforts across the curriculum - ka rawe tō mahi! Marley & Mila represented our Travel Safe leaders today - recognising the awesome Rooms 10 and 18 who had 100% active travel for Wednesday Challenge, along with Rooms 11 and 12 close behind on 96% actively travelling to school. Lastly they shared tips for rail safety week - watch their video to keep safe around rail crossings. kia pai te wiki - have a great week whānau
